I own a nice Kelty down bag myself so I know about washing those (really carefully in the bathtub) but what about an army/marine corps issue mountain bag (down). What would be the best and easiest way to wash and dry it.

Hi Stephen here how do you wash a down sleeping bag and a down jacket at home in the bath tub. Should I use warm,hot,or cold water and what kind of soap. You see I have a Portable Clothes dryer I brought off of HSN the home shopping network. Now I want to use this to dry my down jacket and sleeping bag. But please first tell me how to wash it in my bath tub? Should I ring it out after it is done or just but it right in my Portable dryer all wet? Thanks and please respound with all and any help…

IS DRY CLEANING SAFE FOR YOU TO SLEEP IN THE BAG? ALL THOSE HARSH CLEANING FLUIDS .
